Marianne Horrigan, senior vice president for board relations, associate vice chancellor for advancement, and chief of staff, has been named interim vice chancellor for advancement and interim president and CEO of the USM Foundation.
Marianne has long been central to the success of the Foundation and the Advancement Office.
As associate vice chancellor, she’s built a robust professional development program for advancement and alumni professionals, established a USM Alumni Relations Council, and helped build Systemwide fundraising capacity through shared services such as prospect research, events, and alumni engagement programming. She works closely with advancement leadership across the System and is the go-to resource for Board of Regents policies on advancement and alumni relations.
As senior vice president for board relations, Marianne has put the Foundation in a strong position as we begin a new era. She’s worked closely with Foundation leadership on strategic planning, good governance, and board recruitment. She’s familiar with the work of every Foundation committee, is lead staff to three of them, and organizes the full board meetings. Her collaborative style is valued by her colleagues, her team, and Foundation leadership alike.
Marianne’s deep knowledge of Foundation and System operations, and of board and stakeholder relationships, is critical during this time of transition.
