The University System of Maryland Foundation offers support to University System of Maryland institutions and affiliated community colleges in many capacities. Our team includes staff within the business office, investment office, advancement and advancement services offices.

With more than 5,222 current use and endowment funds in partnership with 23 higher education institutions throughout the state, distributions to these institutions support opportunities throughout the USM, including:
The USM Foundation provides support to Advancement professionals and senior leadership across the USM. The USM Foundation owns and maintains a database of more than 1.9 million alumni and donor records and supports a prospect research team working on behalf of a number of the USM campuses. In addition, the Foundation supports professional development opportunities for USM staff at all stages of their careers within alumni relations and advancement.

The Investment Office provides dedicated resources to the Foundation’s portfolio. The Investment Office staff is comprised of senior professionals with diverse experience and skill sets in the investment industry. In working with three Strategic Investment Managers, staff monitors the existing portfolio and sources new investment opportunities.Â
