Lee Carpenter is a principal in the Estates and Trusts Practice Group at Offit Kurman, P.A. An Accredited Estate Planner®, Lee has extensive experience with estate planning and probate work, trust administration, and general business and corporate law. He strives to create a welcoming environment where clients of all backgrounds feel comfortable discussing their legal needs.
Lee’s practice includes a special emphasis on the unique needs of same-sex couples and other members of the LGBTQ community. As an active member of the community himself, he has testified before the Maryland General Assembly in favor of pro-LGBTQ legislation and is a board member at FreeState Justice, a nonprofit that advocates on behalf of LGBTQ Marylanders.
Lee is a 2006 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law, where he teaches Estates & Trusts as an adjunct professor. He chairs the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s Planned Giving Advisory Council and is a frequent author and lecturer on estate planning and LGBTQ law.
Shari Fleming is a Maryland licensed attorney with a sincere desire to help individuals and families preserve and pass generational wealth while also supporting the causes they love. She is principal of the Law Office of Shari Fleming, which is a law firm geared towards helping individuals and businesses build, protect, and preserve their wealth and legacy, and its practice areas include business formation and succession planning, real estate, estate planning, and estate administration (trusts and probate). Shari also serves as planned giving officer for Bowie State University and is responsible for cultivation and solicitation of gifts involving estates, trusts, and other gifts that reflect deferred giving opportunities.
Shari is a graduate of Lincoln University (PA) and the University of Maryland School of Law. Her post-law school education includes achievement of the designations of Accredited Estate Planner® and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy®. She founded the Our Legacy Matters community with the purpose of advancing the concepts of ownership, wealth maintenance, and wealth retention, specifically within communities of color. In 2021, she was named one of The Daily Record’s 2021 Leadership in Law Generation J.D. honorees, due to her dedication to the practice of law and her community! Shari is a proud, dedicated, and active member of the Baltimore County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Despite her education and professional experience, Shari proclaims that her greatest accomplishment is living, working, worshipping, and serving in Baltimore County, MD, with her husband of 17 years, three daughters, and mother-in-love.
Malika Moore, MSW, LICSW, LCSW-C, is an Aging Life CareProfessional™ and also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the District of Columbia and Maryland. She founded Aging & Amazing®, a company that strives to support older adults, caregivers, and the networks that surround them. Her niche and life mission is ensuring care and interaction with older adults is more than a checkbox.
Malika has over a decade of experience as a professional clinician, public speaker, and business owner and has a genuine passion for older adults and caregivers. Her work in behavioral health, community education, and healthcare has prepared her for her current venture of serving the aging population, family caregivers, and professionals who specialize in aging. Malika has served in several different capacities in her professional career, including consultant, clinician, geriatric care manager, medical social worker, psychotherapist, support group facilitator, and adjunct professor. She was recognized and awarded the 2022 Aging Life Care Association “Rising Star” award. Malika holds dearly and values her family and friends and is personally invested in ensuring we all know that it is possible to live and be Aging & Amazing®!
Elena Sallitto is a principal with Stavely & Sallitto Elder Law, LLC, in Annapolis, where she focuses her practice exclusively on elder law. She routinely provides counsel on long-term care planning, Medicaid planning, nursing home involuntary discharge issues, nursing home and assisted living quality of care concerns; guardianship ; financial exploitation; powers of attorney; special needs planning as well as wills, trusts, and probate.
Elena is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) through the National Elder Law Foundation. She is the current president of the MD/DC Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and serves on the State Advisory Council for Quality of Care at End of Life. She is also past-chair of the Maryland State Bar Association Elder Law and Disability Rights Section. As an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore Law School she teaches Elder Law. Elena a coauthor of the Elder Law Section of the Maryland State Bar Practice Manual, and is co-author for the upcoming edition of the Elder Law in Maryland treatise by Jason Frank. She frequently testifies before the Maryland legislature on matters affecting seniors.
Elena earned her J.D. at Catholic University Columbus School of Law and is licensed to practice in Maryland, Washington, DC, Connecticut and New York.
Christopher Walter leads Davis, Agnor, Rapaport & Skalny, LLC’s Estate Planning Practice Group with a blend of expertise and strategic planning. Prior to his current role, Chris spent six years at a boutique estates and trusts firm in Baltimore County. He received his B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park, and his J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. A long-time resident of Howard County, Chris is proud to serve his community and holds volunteer leadership roles with several non-profit organizations. He spends as much of his free time as he can with his family and friends.
