Timothy Minor

USM Vice Chancellor for Advancement and President and CEO of the USM Foundation

Timothy Minor serves as USM vice chancellor for advancement and president and CEO of the USM Foundation. Prior to joining the USM, he served as vice chancellor for strategic partnerships and economic development at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical (A&T) State University. As the founding vice chancellor, he leveraged partnerships to expand academic programs, research, and economic impact. He also forged alliances with eight global industry leaders in innovation—spanning pharmaceuticals, computing, advanced materials, and manufacturing—positioning A&T at the forefront of industry-aligned education and commercialization.

Previously, Minor served as chief development officer and senior vice president at the V Foundation for Cancer Research, where he helped shape the strategic vision for a major campaign and advanced key philanthropic initiatives. He also served as vice president for university advancement and chief advancement officer for the University of North Carolina System, where he supported the advancement programs of the system’s 17 constituent campuses and led the system’s own fundraising efforts. In his final year in the role, the UNC System saw record-breaking philanthropy, raising $1.1 billion across all campuses.
