Steve Dubin

Principal, SDA Ventures LLC

Mr. Dubin is a Principal of SDA Ventures LLC, a firm focused on assisting emerging growth, middle-market and multi-national companies, primarily in the health and wellness, and nutritional products markets, on matters including corporate development, business acquisition, customer relations, growth strategies and corporate finance. In addition, Mr. Dubin is a member of the boards of Adicet Bio, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACET), Phytolon Ltd. and Exosomm Ltd.

From 2011 to 2023, he was a Senior Advisor to Paine Schwartz Partners, a global private equity firm with offices in New York and San Francisco. In this role, he focused on identifying and executing investments in the human and animal food and nutrition sectors.

Previously, Mr. Dubin served as Chairman of Enzymotec Ltd. (NASDAQ: ENZY), a leading global supplier of specialty lipid-based products and solutions, from 2014 until its acquisition by Frutarom Industries in 2018.

From 2006 to 2011, he was the CEO of Martek Biosciences Corporation (NASDAQ: MATK), where he played a pivotal role in transforming the company from an R&D-focused operation into a fully integrated, profitable enterprise. Under his leadership, annual revenues grew from $270 million to over $470 million, gross margins improved significantly, and annual pre-tax income rose from $24 million to $91 million. Notable achievements during his tenure include the $1.1 billion sale of Martek to Royal DSM N.V. in 2011 and the acquisition of Amerifit Brands, a consumer health products company. After the sale, he remained with DSM Nutritional Products as a Senior Advisor, focusing on M&A opportunities. Mr. Dubin spent 14 years at Martek in various executive roles before becoming CEO, including President, CFO, General Counsel, Treasurer, and Senior Vice President of Business Development.

Earlier in his career, he worked in venture capital and commercial banking at Suburban Bank (now part of Bank of America), ultimately serving as Vice President and Treasurer of its venture capital arm. In 2001, he co-founded the Chesapeake Emerging Opportunities Club, an angel investment fund based in Maryland.

Mr. Dubin graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1974, where he studied business and accounting. He received his Juris Doctor Degree in 1980 from the National Law Center at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Mr. Dubin is a licensed CPA in Maryland and a member of the Maryland Bar.
