Dr. Ruchi Mehta is a retired Managing Director and Partner of Lone Pine Capital, a long-short equity hedge fund, where she led healthcare investments for several years after earning her Doctorate. She obtained her B.S. in Chemistry (Honors) from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, her M.S. from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay and her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Ruchi truly believes that a world class education can transform lives and build a better world. She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Teach For India U.S. She also serves on the Executive Board of the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, and is the immediate past Trustee Chair of the Budget, Audit and Investment committee of UMCPF. Ruchi and her husband are Founding Members of Indian American Impact, a nonprofit which engages and elevates Indian American and South Asian community members into public office.
Ruchi has been actively involved at her children’s school, assuming various leadership roles in the Parents Association, the Council and the Annual Fund. She lives in New York City with her husband and two sons.
