Robert B. Schaftel began his insurance career in 1962 when he joined his family’s agency, where he produced all lines of coverage. He assumed more responsibility over the years, becoming treasurer and executive vice president, until the company was sold in 1985. At that time, Mr. Schaftel served as CEO of the agency while continuing to produce and service his clients. He joined RCM&D in 2000, where he continues to sell, consult and service new and existing clients.
Mr. Schaftel is a graduate of the University of Maryland. He has served and chaired various community and industry boards, and is currently a trustee of the Sheppard Pratt Health System. He was a founding trustee of the University of Maryland College Park Foundation and is an Honorary Director of the University System of Maryland Foundation.
