Neil Moskowitz is the retired Chief Financial Officer of Credit Suisse First Boston. He had previously been Chief Operating Officer of the Institutional Securities Division and of the Equities Division of the company.
Neil graduated, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1980 with High Honors in Economics. After obtaining his MBA in 1984 from Harvard, he began his career with Goldman Sachs in London and in New York City working in Treasury and Fixed Income. He rose to become Vice President and Manager of European and later U.S. Equity Operations. He was with Goldman Sachs for 10 years prior to joining Credit Suisse First Boston.
Mr. Moskowitz received the Distinguished Alumnus award from the College of Behavioral and Social Science in 2001. In 1996, Mr. Moskowitz established the Martin Moskowitz Award Fund for Economics at the College of Behavioral and Social Science at the University of Maryland College Park in honor of his late father who was a lawyer with the Securities and Exchange Commission and a specialist in options trading. Neil later established the Neil Moskowitz named Professorship in Economics, the Moskowitz Scholarship, and the Hilda Moskowitz Graduate Fellowship in Economics, in honor his mother who received a PHD in English Literature at University of Maryland while on fellowship.
He currently serves on the UMCP Board of Trustees, the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences Board of Visitors , and is the head of the Operating Fund Sub-Committee within the USMF Investment Committee. A native of Silver Spring, Mr. Moskowitz was elected Phi Beta Kappa at Maryland.
