George P. (Pat) Clancy, Jr. served as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer of Chevy Chase Bank. Mr. Clancy began his banking career with The Riggs National Bank, holding various executive positions over 20 years, including President of Riggs National Corporation. In 1986, Mr. Clancy joined Signet Bank where he was President and CEO of Signet Bank, N.A. and Senior Executive Vice President of Signet Banking Corporation prior to joining Chevy Chase Bank in 1995.
Mr. Clancy is a Director of WGL Holdings, Inc., Saul Centers, Inc. and Chevy Chase Trust Company. He is the founding Chairman of the Catholic Charities Foundation and serves on the board of Catholic Charities of The Archdicese of Washington; he is a member of the Executive Committee of the Washington DC Police Fund. Mr. Clancy is a Trustee of the University of Maryland College Park Foundation.
He received a BA in English from UMCP in 1967 and an MBA from Loyola College in Maryland in 1980.
