Christine Chandler serves as the Chief Credit Officer and Chief Operating Officer for M&T Realty Capital Corporation (MTRCC.) In this role, Christine is responsible for making credit decisions for MTRCC’s Multifamily and Healthcare transactions underwritten in the Agency and FHA platforms as well as managing the company operations.
For thirteen years, Christine was the Chief FHA Underwriter for MTRCC. She is an approved Multifamily (MAP) and 232 Healthcare Underwriter. Prior to her appointment in the FHA group, Christine was a senior Fannie Mae DUS Underwriter and spent several years managing the closing and delivery for FHA/GNMA transactions. In addition to her tenure with the Mortgage Corporation, Christine was a relationship manger in the commercial real estate division, focusing on construction and permanent portfolio lending. Christine has been with M&T since 1991 and has over 30 years of commercial real estate experience.
Christine is active in various committees and groups related to the mortgage banking industry. She has been an instructor for the MBA sponsored FHA Underwriting Training program (a six-month graduate school level program.) Christine is the past Chair of the MBA FHA Closing Working Group and been a speaker at various industry conferences, including the Commercial Real Estate Finance (CREF) conference. She serves as Vice Chair of the MBA Commercial Real Estate / Multifamily Board of Governors (COMBOG) and is a member of the MBA Board of Directors. In addition, she is the Co-Chair of the MBA Affordable Rental Housing Advisory Counsel. Christine is the recipient of the 2020 Top 100 Women recognition by The Daily Record.
In addition to responsibilities at M&T, Christine is a board member for several not-for-profit entities. Christine is a Director for the University System of Maryland Foundation (USMF). In addition, she is the Vice Chair of the Advisory Board for Partners in Excellence, an organization that is affiliated with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and was appointed by Archbishop Lori in 2017. PIE raises scholarship funds to provide opportunities for disadvantaged Baltimore City (and surrounding area) children to obtain a private Catholic education.
Christine is a graduate of Towson University and resides in Severna Park, Maryland.
