Carlton M. Arrendell

Director for Real Estate Development University of Pennsylvania

Carlton is currently the Director for Real Estate Development at the University of Pennsylvania. In his role, Carlton is responsible for the university’s real estate portfolio of commercial, retail, residential, office and other non-campus assets totaling over $1.5B. Prior to joining the University of Pennsylvania, Carlton’s real estate career has included time with Full Spectrum, a New York based development firm and the AFL-CIO Investment Trust Corporation where he sourced, structured, negotiated and closed investment transactions in all asset classes of commercial real estate across the United States.

Carlton is also a seasoned Corporate Director having 10+ years’ experience with both public and not-for-profit companies. Serving on Compensation Committee(s) focusing on C-Suite Executive compensation issues as well as serving on Audit, Nominating and Governance Committees. Carlton has previously served as a board member for both the University of Maryland College Park Foundation (UMCPF) and the Terrapin Development Company. The Terrapin Development Company is a limited liability company whose members include UMCPF and the University of Maryland, College Park.

Carlton received his B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park and his J.D. from George Mason University. Carlton is licensed to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Carlton is a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi and Sigma Pi Phi fraternities.
