Barry P. Gossett is the retired Chairman and CEO (2004 to 2015) of Baltimore based Acton Mobile Industries, suppliers of mobile offices, construction trailers and commercial modular buildings. Prior to Acton he served as Chairman and CEO (1969 to 2002) of Williams Scotsman Inc. a national company in the modular building and mobile office industry. He is a charter member of the Modular Building Institute where he served on its board of directors (1982 to 1986) and President in 1985. He received the Institutes first Outstanding Achievement Award and was elected to the MBI Hall of Fame. He is the founder of the MBI Educational Foundation. Mr. Gossett is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of CPA’s.
Mr. Gossett currently serves on the Board of Regents of The University System of Maryland, the University of Maryland Medical System, Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission, Board of Rosedale Federal Saving and Loan Association, Babe Ruth Museum and Executive Board of the Baltimore Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is the past Chairman of the University System of Maryland Foundation and the University of Maryland College Park Foundation.
He previously served on the Board of Maryland Manufactured Housing Association, Northeast Manufactured Housing Association, Maryland State Prosecutor Selection and Disabilities Commission, Governor’s Salary Commission, New Children’s Hospital (Baltimore), Essex Community College Foundation, Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation, Terrapin Club and Kure Pain LLC.
