This workshop will focus on how to write clear, focused paragraphs. Strategies discussed will include how to write clear topic sentences, how to create coherence within paragraphs, how to edit sentences to create logical connections between ideas, and how to avoid fake transitions. This will be an interactive workshop with brief exercises to illustrate each strategy.
Jane Rosenzweig is the director of the Harvard College Writing Center and the author of the Writing Hacks newsletter. She has worked as a staff editor at the Atlantic and a member of the fiction staff at the New Yorker. Her work has been published in the New York Times, Harvard Business Review, the American Prospect, the Boston Globe, and Chronicle Review. She holds a BA from Yale, an M.Litt. from Oxford, and an MFA from the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop.
