Events at Hidden Waters are restricted to purposes related to the USM’s mission and must be hosted by one of the University System of Maryland’s 12 institutions or 3 regional centers. Use of Hidden Waters is prohibited for personal business and for non-USM organizations.
Hidden Waters, a Georgian-style mansion, located in Baltimore, Maryland, is owned by the University System of Maryland Foundation and provides a gracious setting well-suited for USM events.
Hidden Waters, home of the late Jacob and Annita France, was given to the University System of Maryland Foundation in 1981. Dr. Robert Merrick, a prominent Baltimore business leader and long-time associate of Jacob France, arranged for the transfer as chairman of The France-Merrick Foundation, (now known as the France-Merrick Foundation, one of Baltimore’s leading philanthropies).
Today, Hidden Waters hosts receptions, banquets, and meetings for the benefit of the USM’s institutions and regional centers.
