Overview

The fundraising climate is continually evolving. The same old way of fundraising just doesn’t cut it anymore. Donors are more discerning and savvier. They are busier than ever and there are more non-profits all competing for the same charitable dollars. Fundraisers need to adapt to this ever-changing climate. Donors don’t want to waste time. They want to be in control. They need to feel that they are being heard. To maximize their fundraising potential, fundraisers need to get donor’s attention quickly, build trust faster and connect with donors on a deeper emotional level. This requires the skill of being a better communicator. Donors are being bombarded by people who don’t spend time (or receive the training) to build better communication skills. Those who do, separate themselves from the pack. A big part of being a better communicator requires a more conversational approach.

This two-part workshop will explore the following topics:

  • Building rapport and trust on the phone quickly
  • Helping the donor feel they are in control
  • Asking better questions, getting better answers
  • Listening to understand, not to respond
  • Being more relatable to your donors

Limit of 100 participants.
