Alison L. Asti is currently a Circuit Court Judge in Anne Arundel County Maryland. Prior to becoming a Judge, she led a Sports & Economic Development Practice Group for the Baltimore law firm Gordon Feinblatt under the name Asti Strategic Advisors. Ms. Asti had more than 25 years of experience providing a broad range of legal counsel and consulting services in corporate, commercial and real estate matters including business acquisitions, contracts, negotiation and financing. Her practice provided advice and consultation to major, minor and university league sports organizations as well as economic development authorities regarding facilities planning and development. These services included strategic planning, management consulting, design and construction counsel, contract negotiation, financing strategy and negotiation, project advocacy and event organization.
Prior to re-joining Gordon Feinblatt in 2008, Ms. Asti was the Executive Director and General Counsel for the Maryland Stadium Authority, where she was responsible for negotiating the team leases with the Orioles and the Ravens, and she oversaw over $1 billion in public and public-private construction projects throughout the State.
Ms. Asti has been a Bar Association leader for many years including: Maryland State Bar Association President (2007-2008), American Bar Association House of Delegates (1995-98 & 2011-Present); National Conference of Bar Presidents Executive Council Member (2000-03); State Chair, American Bar Foundation Fellows (2008 – 2011); Metropolitan Bar Caucus President (1999-2000); Maryland State Bar Association Board of Governors (1986-88, 1995-97, 2003-09); Bar Association of Baltimore City President (1994-95); Baltimore Women’s Bar President (1986-87); Maryland Bar Foundation President (1999-2001) and Baltimore City Bar Foundation President (1995-96). Her professional affiliations also include: “The Daily Record” Editorial Board, Chair (1998-2010) and the University of Maryland Law School, Board of Visitors, (1997-Present).
Ms. Asti has been a speaker at numerous national and international conferences on sports facility development and finance, and she was chosen as one of “Maryland’s Top 100 Women” in 1996 and 2009. She was also named to The Daily Record’s Most Influential Marylanders in 2007 and The Daily Record’s Leadership in Law Award in 2005. Ms. Asti received her J.D. in 1979 from the University of Maryland School of Law where she was Editor of the University of Maryland Law Review. She was a cum laude graduate of Duke University where she received a Master of Arts Degree in Economics (Public Finance) in 1976 and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science in 1975.
