Laurel McCombs and Bob Osborne Bios

Laurel McCombs – Senior Philanthropy Advisor, The Osborne Group, Inc.:

Laurel McCombs brings more than 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector and a passion for the role philanthropy can play in changing the world to her work as a consultant, partner, and trainer.

Laurel has worked closely with clients on a variety of topics, including donor retention, planning, donor management, board development and more. Current and recent clients include the ACLU, Nonprofit Association of Oregon, and Cal State Fullerton. In addition to well-received workshops at proprietary national conferences, Laurel has presented at the Association of Fundraising Professionals International Conference, CASE-NAIS, and several local professional associations.

Prior to joining the Osborne Group, Laurel worked with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America where she was responsible for the coordination of capacity building resources and support to Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across the country. Laurel is a graduate of the University of Southern California and lives in Portland, OR.

Robert C. Osborne, Jr. – Principal, The Osborne Group, Inc.:

Robert has nearly 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and is a well-known international speaker and workshop leader. He has conducted well-received workshops and/or keynote addresses for the International Fundraising Congress, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, the International Fundraising Festival, AFP ICON, AFP Congress, the Fundraising Institute of New Zealand, CEE Fundraising Conference, and many others.

Robert serves on the boards of the United Hospital Fund and US Squash, both in New York. He also serves on the International Advisory Board of the Czech Fundraising Center in Czech Republic, the International Advisory Board of the Impact Hub Belgrade in Serbia, and the Advisory Board of the Impact Hub Metropolitan in New York. He is a studio partner and co-founder of Studio X Ventures, a venture studio for social impact startups in the Western Balkans.
