Michael K. Barry, CFA
Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Barry serves as the Chief Investment Officer for The University System of Maryland Foundation. He is currently responsible for the investment of $620 million in Endowment and Operating Funds on behalf of the 11 member universities that invest with the USM Foundation Investment Office and 6 non-profit clients. Prior to his arrival at the Foundation in early 2003, Mr. Barry served as a Senior Research Associate at Cambridge Associates, one of the nation’s leading Investment Consulting firms. Cambridge’s clients include Endowments, Foundations, Independent Non-Profit Organizations, Museums & Libraries, Family Offices, and Corporate Pensions. Before Cambridge, he served as a Management Analyst and then Senior Management Analyst for KPMG in their Higher Education practice. Mr. Barry earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Fairfield University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and serves as a Director on the Board for the Washington CFA Society and the Investment Committee of NASULGC. He is originally from Montgomery County, MD and currently resides with his wife Katie and daughter Keating in the District of Columbia.
