SECU-USM Scholarship
SECU, Maryland’s largest state-chartered financial cooperative, has presented a $50,000 gift to the University System of Maryland (USM) Foundation, to be awarded to students transferring from one of the state’s two-year community colleges to any of USM’s 11 undergraduate institutions and two regional higher education centers, in the form of ten, $5,000 individual scholarships. Applicants must be a community college student who is applying for admission to one of the University System of Maryland’s undergraduate-degree granting institutions, and who have earned, or anticipate earning, an associate’s degree prior to transferring to the USM institution.
Scholarship awards will be based on academic merit (at least a B average) and demonstrated financial need. Applicants must also be a SECU member. Membership in SECU is open to all students attending a Maryland community college.
