John “Petch” Gibbons

Petch Gibbons draws on his more than 25 years of outstanding real estate experience in this role as president of The J Street Companies, the holding company for its three subsidiary companies; Woodmark Commercial, Randall Hagner Residential and J Street Development. Before joining Randall Hagner in September 2007, Petch was President and CEO of GVA Advantis, a full service real estate firm with 550 people, three core businesses; brokerage, property management, and construction, with 14 offices located throughout the Southeast region, and its predecessor, Advantis Real Estate Services, a St. Joe Company. His background also includes executive leadership positions as President of Barnes Morris Pardoe & Foster and Executive Managing Director at Insignia ESG.
In addition, Petch has extensive experience leading and participating at the highest levels in worldwide networks, having served as chairman of The Commercial Network (TNC) and on the board of GVA Worldwide. As a broker, he participated in leasing the most notable projects in Washington; Washington Harbour, The Warner Theatre Office Building, Techworld, The Westory. His undergraduate degree and master’s degree in interdisciplinary management are both from the University of Maryland.
Mr. Gibbons is a member of the Council of Advisors for the University of Maryland’s graduate program in real estate development. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the University System of Maryland Foundation. Additionally, he is the chairman emeritus of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the National Capital Area. Mr. Gibbons serves on the board of National Children's Research Center (NCRC). He is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and the World Presidents Organization (WPO), as well as The Economic Club of Washington, DC. He is also a member of Leadership Greater Washington.
