Emanuel J. Fthenakis is the retired Chairman of CEF Corporation. Prior to that, he was Chairman and CEO at Fairchild Industries. He has been a trustee of Capitol College in Laurel, MD, a member of the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Council, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Association, and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.
His wife, Hermione Fthenakis, received a degree in architecture from UMCP’s College of Architecture in 1977, and their son John received a BS in Microbiology from UMCP in 1976. Fthenakis is a former member of the Board of Visitors of the College of Engineering, and he served as an adjunct professor at UMCP from 1981-1984.
