Clifford M. Kendall, formally Chairman and CEO of Computer Data Systems, Inc. (CDSI), graduated from the University of Maryland, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in finance. After graduation, he received an ROTC commission and served in the Air Force. Mr. Kendall earned his MBA at George Washington University. Prior to the founding of CDSI, his career included positions with Washington Gas Light Company, American University, Washington University in St. Louis, and the consulting firm of Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc. Mr. Kendall currently serves on the corporate boards of VSE Corporation, I360, Inc. and Burdeshaw Associates, Ltd. He previously served on the board of directors of Washington Real Estate Trust, Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (CDSI merged with ACS in December 1977), and was Chairman of the Board of On-Site Sourcing, Inc.

Mr. Kendall is a resident of Montgomery County, Maryland and has been active in the business community. He is Past Chairman of The Technology Council of Maryland. He served as Chairman of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, Chairman of the Montgomery/Prince Georges County CEO Roundtable, and was President of the Montgomery County Education Connection. Mr. Kendall has also served as a member of the board of the Maryland Economic Development Commission.

Currently Mr. Kendall is devoting a great deal of his time and energy to higher education. He is a member of the Board of Regents for the University System of Maryland and is serving his sixth year as Chairman. He is also on the AGB’s (Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges) Council of Board Chairs. Previously Mr. Kendall served on the Board of Trustees of George Washington University and successfully chaired a fund raising effort to build a new building for the GWU School of Business. He continues to serve on the GWU Business School Advisory Board.

Mr. Kendall was an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University teaching in their MBA program and served on the Board of the Universities at Shady Grove. He also previously served as director of the Montgomery County Community Foundation, which he founded and chaired. Currently, Mr. Kendall is a member of the board of the University of Maryland Medical System and serves on the board of the Lighthouse, which manages investments for the Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind.
