Maureen Dowd Keynotes UB Kickoff

On March 26, the University of Baltimore (UB) hosted a reception at the university student center to kick off Uniquely UB: The Campaign for the University of Baltimore. New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd was the keynote speaker of the event. The fundraising effort will raise $40 million for student and faculty support, support of programs and centers of excellence, and constructing new facilities. UB Foundation chair Vernon H. C. Wright, ’69, is heading the campaign. UB has already raised $26.6 million toward this goal, which includes a $5 million gift from alumnus Peter G. Angelos to the law school, the largest gift in UB’s history. For more information about the campaign, see: http://www.uniquelyub.org/index.php.
