UMB Fundraising Campaign Tops $69M
The Baltimore Business Journal reports the University of Maryland, Baltimore edged out its goal for fiscal year 2007-08 by raising more than $69 million. Sue Gladhill, UMB vice president of external affairs, said the campaign has followed national fundraising trends in higher education, with fewer donors giving larger gifts. Last October, UMB announced a $650 million fundraising effort to run through 2012 to raise money for its six major academic schools.
