UMCP Campaign Tops $400 Million
The University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) has announced that it has passed the $400 million mark in its Great Expectations campaign, which launched last year. An unprecedented number of gifts were received in June 2007, including support for the anticipated School of Public Health; Persian Studies; the College of Education; the College of Computer, Mathematical and Physical Sciences; Music; University Libraries; the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center; the Robert H. Smith School of Business; and Athletics. Gifts from three faculty members represented $2.25 million of June’s total. These outstanding gifts and many others benefited the campaign’s core priorities of student support, faculty development, and facilities, as well as academic, arts, and athletic programs across all parts of the University.
