The University System of Maryland Foundation is thrilled to showcase the results of our second annual art contest. The art contest encouraged submissions to consider the quote, “I want to put a ding in the universe,” by Steve Jobs, and to create a work of art that would reflect the quote. The contest was open to all faculty, staff, and students throughout the University System of Maryland (USM).

Websites like Go Fund Me, IndieGoGo, and Kickstarter have been making waves for their ability to allow individuals and small organizations to raise money. Nonprofits and higher education institutions are getting in on the act too: with one-day giving events and campaigns to buy new equipment, raise support for a capital project, and more.
