The University System of Maryland Foundation is thrilled to announce the results of our second annual art contest. The art contest encouraged submissions to consider the quote, “I want to put a ding in the universe,” by Steve Jobs, and to create a work of art that would reflect the quote. The contest was open to all faculty, staff, and students throughout the University System of Maryland (USM).
We received 88 submissions from almost all of our system institutions and from a wide range of faculty, students, and staff. We even had an entire class from Frostburg State University submit their work as part of a syllabus requirement!
It was a difficult decision with so many talented and articulate entries, but we finally narrowed it down to five: one grand prize winner and four runners up.
