"Brit" Kirwan's thirteen years with the University System of Maryland, United States Congressman Steny Hoyer gave a one minute speech honoring Chancellor Kirwan. Congressman Hoyer details some of Chancellor Kirwan's accomplishments throughout his 51 year career.
USM Foundation Board Directors Visit Annapolis!
On Monday, February 23rd, several board directors visited with state senators and delegates on behalf of the University System of Maryland in the wake of a $40 million mid-year budget cut.
USM Foundation Announces its 2014 Art Contest Winners!
The University System of Maryland Foundation has announced the winners from its third annual art contest. The art contest encouraged submissions to create a work of art that would reflect the Nelson Mandela quote, “Vision without action is just a dream, action without vision just passes the time, and vision with action can change the world." The contest was open to all faculty, staff, and students throughout the University System of Maryland (USM).
College Endowments Up Again
Endowments saw average market returns of 15.8% in the 2014 budget year, according to preliminary findings of a survey by Commonfund and the National Association of College and University Business Officers. Last year, investment returns were 11.7%.
