Vice President of Finance and CFO, General Counsel

Pamela Purcell serves as General Counsel, Vice President for Finance and CFO of the University System of Maryland Foundation and as Director of Planned Giving Services for the University System of Maryland.  Ms. Purcell works closely with the Board of Directors to address governance, legal and budgetary issues.  She also works with planned giving officers and their donors across the System.  Ms. Purcell joined the Foundation in 1999 as Foundation Counsel.  In 2002 she added Director of Planned Giving Services to her responsibilities.  In 2010 she was named Acting Vice President for Finance and CFO and was permanently appointed to these roles in December 2011.  Ms. Purcell received a BA degree in Philosophy from Denison University, a JD degree from the New England School of Law where she was Senior Editor of the Law Review and an LLM in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law.

Roles & Responsibilities

In addition to her roles as General Counsel and Director of Planned Giving, Pam oversees the financial operations of the Business Services office.
