UMCP Receives $220,000,000 Gift--Largest in School's History

The A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation's $219.5 million investment "Building Together: An Investment for Maryland" ranks among the largest to a public research institution in the 21st century. The gift will provide need-based scholarships to students, endow chairs for distinguished faculty, establish post-doctoral fellowships, and will make possible new facilities.


Richard A. Henson Foundation Announces $2.5 Million Gift for SU Science and Technology Programs

The Richard A. Henson Foundation, Inc. reaffirmed its commitment to Salisbury University, announcing a $2.5 million gift for SU’s Richard A. Henson School of Science and Technology. This gift marks the 30th anniversary of the Henson Foundation's initial commitment. The gift will establish or enhance student scholarships, a science and math honors program, undergraduate and faculty research, and student conference travel.


President Dudley-Eshbach Stepping Down

Dr. Janet Dudley-Eshbach is stepping down as president of Salisbury on June 30, 2018. Under her leadership, SU's student population has grown from 6,400 to 8,700. The University has also increased its visibility within the community, especially in downtown Salisbury. During her tenure, the SU Foundation’s net assets have grown from $27.1 million to $74.7 million, an increase of 175 percent.


In Memoriam: Lieutenant General Emmett Paige

USMF Honorary Director Lieutenant General Emmett Paige passed away on August 31 at the age of 86. General Paige led an incredible life and served his country with distinction and honor. He carried those values through to his service on our foundation, as well as in his leadership roles at his alma mater, UMUC. He will be missed by many, in particular his three children Micheal E. Paige-Davis, Sandra Alexandra and Anthony Paige. He is predeceased by his wife Gloria, who passed away in April 2016.


$50,000 Endowment for Salisbury's Tom and Nancy Jones Undergraduate Research Fund

Former professor, dean, and provost Dr. Tom Jones and his wife Anne-Marie "Nancy" Jones, established the Tom and Nancy Jones Undergraduate Research Fund at Salisbury University that will provide financial resources for undergraduate students to conduct research and present work in the biological, environmental, and marine sciences.
